Story Time: Sick baby story

I love this time of year.
I love the decorations.
I love the spirit everyone has to serve and to give.
I love love loooove scarf weather.
The holidays are such a great reminder of what we should really do all year round.
Chris sets a great example by wearing Christmas ties in July.
What a rebel, haha.

But most importantly it makes me think of Jesus Christ.
Not only of his birth, but also of his death.
And how Heavenly Father must have felt when He sent his Son, and knew that he would suffer.

Back in the beginning of May of this year, Serena had a very high fever,
which is incredibly fatal to someone so young and small.
Chris and I took her to the hospital, and we ended up being there for about half a week.
They poked her with needles and taped monitors to her precious tiny body.
I remember thinking many times while in the hospital,
"How could Heavenly Father let His Son, Jesus Christ, suffer when I can barely handle this?"
I continuously said to myself, "If I had the power, I would heal her right now."
I wanted it to be me instead.
I prayed so many times.
What I felt for Serena must've been just a glimpse of how Heavenly Father felt for His Son.
Heavenly Father knew, as I know,
that Jesus Christ's sacrifice was necessary
so that we could have the Atonement.
She was such a happy little sicky.
She would smile at the nurses and melt their hearts.
I was so grateful when she was finally better
and we could take her home.
I thanked God for helping me have a better understanding
of the Atonement and all he does for me.

Serena is almost 9 months!!
Where did the time go?!

I think it's time for me to put up our decorations now...
You guys can come over and help if you want! (:
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Thanks for reading, I love you all!

The Holidays!!

I love love love the holidays!
Firstly, October in a nutshell:
Grandpa Haag reading to Aunt D'Veda and Serena.
These are just few of my favorite people.

Daddy and Rini started playing tug-o-war. Seriously, this was a complete accident and totally perfect.
(Serena's favorite toys are water bottles, so if you see them around my house that's why)

When we were playing with Grandma Hamann, Rini kept laying on her like this:
It was too cute! You can tell she loves her Grandma!

We went to my parents ward Halloween party (that was a week before Halloween)
where she met a new friend!
Madeline! She's my friend Felicia's little girl, and is a week older than Rini.
These girls are a couple of Princess'!

Rini went trick or treating on Halloween night with aunt D'Veda.
Her dad stayed home and napped.
She tried sharing her treats with him, but he wouldn't wake up. (;

NOVEMBER.
I had this candle from Bath and Body works (it's gone now because I used it all this month!) called Cinnamon Pumpkin. (you can get it here)
YOU GUYS! It smells sooo good. AH, just thinking about it.

I was feeling crafty and did this little DIY project:
I'm so in love with the herringbone pattern right now, and I saw some things on Pinterest and decided to give it a try.
Plus, I'm loving gold.
Would you guys like me to do a post on how to achieve this awesome (and easy!) canvas art?
Let me know!

My hot and single cousin, Buck, came home from his mission.
Buck and I grew up together and we are both nuts.
But he's more nuts because he's more willing to break the rules than I am.
Believe it or not, I'm the more conservative one about rules!
This was a selfie I tried to take on the bus trip out to the airport to greet him:
I'm wearing my ultimate favorite Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Elusive (or maybe its in Sultry, I can't remember.)
They are the bombdotcom. Check them out at your local Target/Walmart/drugstore OR here.
The Family Bus where all my aunts, uncles, cousins, etc hop on for a trip so we don't have to take a billion cars.
Because there are a billion of us.

The night before Thanksgiving we went to the 21st Annual Turkey Skate at The Rink.
(Of course I forgot to get pictures.)
We visited a lot of family. Talked about having babies. It was great.
I didn't get any pictures on Thanksgiving either.
Probably because I didn't want to show off my stuffed turkey belly.
We (Chris, me, Serena, and Marcia joined us) went up to the
Mormon Center at Temple Hill where the Haag family Thanksgiving was held.
After we ate, there were blow up slides and "Wipe-Out" looking machines trying to knock you down.
Because what better way to make you throw up your food? (;
Then we went down to Chris' Dad's house and had dinner there.
I don't know if it was the delicious food he made or what,
but Rini loved playing with Grandpa Hamann.
She actually preferred him over her parents, which is a first!

Then there's Black Friday Shopping...
let's just say there were a few trips to Kohls, Target, Michaels, etc. and leave it at that.
I didn't miss Cyber Monday either!
If you guys would like to hear about the awesome deals I got, let me know!

I love you all!

Short story time: I caught something today.

I have this reflex that randomly kicks in where when something goes flying I need to catch it.
Sometimes I wish I didn't have that reflex.
I caught poop today.

Need I say more?

Call me crazy, but its all worth it.
My hat goes off to you Mommy's of the world.

I love you all, thanks for reading!

Southern California and pictures from rides galore!

School has started and I've been a bit busy trying to get the swing of things.
Now that I'm an expert at school, I can now finally write my blog (:
I know you all have been waiting for it.

This post is seriously going to be a lot of pictures, so I hope you like those.

Story first!
We've been driving all morning and we finally make it to LA.
We're all enjoying awesome LA traffic when Chris says, "Um, Sabrina...is the RPM thing suppose to do that?"
I look at the RPM dial and it. is. wigging. out.
Loooong story short:
Our car died in the middle of LA traffic.
I learned that people in LA love to push a button on their steering wheel called a horn.
A million times.
Then their neighbors start honking because they're honking.
It became "leg day" for me.
From pushing our car.
We spent 3 hours in an auto shop.
But we got a new ALTERNATOR!
I love getting new things!! (:
The end.

After that we finally get to our hotel.
We were exhausted and hungry, but that didn't stop us from spending the rest of the day in Disneyland!!!!

The first day of Disneyland was just me and Chris.
This is us eating at Carnation Cafe.
They sat us across from each other, which is cool.
But it's really not because we're glued at the hip hip hippity.

Let me skip to the good part.

Ladies and gentlemen,
Captain America!!!!
Captain America said, "We could take a picture like a normal civilian...or we could take a picture like a superhero!"
And he did this ^^^^
I'm clearly not meant to be a superhero.
I know I am a grown woman and everything, but seriously...
I was totally star-struck. It was ridiculous.
My face: "Everything you say is true."
"Isn't that funny, Chris?"
The second day at Disneyland Sophia and Rini tagged along!
Space Mountain AKA Ghost Galaxy.
If you can't tell, I'm giving a thumbs down.
I am only sharing this picture because it is Chris' favorite.
He loved that I didn't like the "ghosts" (more like Fire Demons) trying TO GRAB ME.

We ate at the Blue Bayou which I would suggest doing at least once!
It is pricey, but we did it more for the experience.
The food was good too!
I may have accidentally ordered something with wine that had the alcohol "cooked out of it", but I'm not sure.
Chris is sure though, if you ask him.
Don't ask him.
You can see the Pirates of the Caribbean boat goers passing by while you eat there.
Yes, people waved. And I waved back!
Again, they sat us across from each other.
Disneyland....trying to pull us apart. (;

Chris doesn't really like roller coaster rides.
And he doesn't appreciate the fact that I narrate the ride for him!
"Chris! Chris! The loop is coming! Chris, we're going to go upside down!
Are you okay with that?"
"Stop talking!"
It is literally the only time he tells me to stop talking. Roller coasters.
Mwuahahahahahahhahaha.
On the other hand, Sophia and I LOOOOOOOOOOVE roller coasters!!!

I make really good faces.
Funny story:
People who weren't even on the log with us were taking pictures of my face.
Where's Chris? Hiding behind me. Hhahahahaha
I would also like you guys to focus on the people behind Chris.
Perfect time to choke someone, am I right? haha
Splash Mountain
Please take your time examining the sleeping people on the left.
Then you may look at me and Chris on the right.
"Chris! It's gonna drop! We're gonna drop, Chris!"
"Stop talking!" ahahahaahahah

The next day Chris and I went to a WB studios tour (can't bring babies), which is my favorite tour to go on!
I recommend it to all!!

It was the 75th anniversary of Batman.
Whatever that means. But Chris loved it!
For those of you who don't know Chris very well, he is a comic nerd.
More Marvel than DC.
There is a difference! (Which I didn't know till I married Chris haha)

And of course we visited the Harry Potter museum part of the tour.

This is me being sorted.
Literally the second I sat down it screamed, "Slytherin!" and Chris caught my reaction.

And this is Chris' reaction being sorted into Hufflepuff.

We like to hang out with Voldemort/Professor Quirrell.

Aww...cute little Aragog.

NOT.
This spider looked so real, and it kept looking me in the eyeballs.
I just. couldn't. even.

Aaaand the F.R.I.E.N.D.S set.

After the WB tour we picked up our little ones and headed to....
Universal Studios!
Where we ran into little minions.
They are so much cuter in real life.
I just wanted to pick 'em up and carry them home.

This cutie pie was so chill (she get's that from her dad)!
She was so cute that random Asians started taking pictures of her and wanted to hold her.
I didn't let them because they might kidnap her.

I had to share this picture because it shows Chris' personality perfectly.
His face is genuine surprise.
Chris doesn't scream or yell.
He opens his eyes a little wider.
Raises his eyebrows a little higher.
Closes his mouth a little tighter.
You guys know me so well, I'm sure you're not surprised by my face.

Sophia and I hate dinosaurs.
Can you find us?
No?
We're next to a grumpy looking guy (about to get hit by a hat) who I accidentally may have started squishing closer too.
Out of fear!!
Yes, you may talk about our faces.
We really do hate dinosaurs.

And we ended with City Walk.
We wanted to try Bubba Gump, but it was so packed and we had a baby.
Have any of you tried Bubba Gump?
What would you recommend for us to try there for next time?

That wasn't too long, was it?

I love you all and thanks for reading!

When I found out I was pregnant.

WARNING: AWKWARD "TIME OF THE MONTH" INFO.
PERIOD.
You're welcome (:

I thought that I would share with you (what I can remember) the story of when I found out I pregnant.
I will staaaart with: girls camp.
I love girls camp sooooo so so so much!
Especially in my stake (Sacramento Cordova Stake.)
I've gone through all my girls camp years in this stake, and it has a special place in my heart.
So when they asked me to be a COOKIE at girls camp of 2013, I could NOT say no (even if I was a brand new-newly wed)!

For those of you who don't want to know about my "time of the month"--skip this paragraph and go straight to--actually, this is basically the whole story.
No skippy for you! Unless you just want to stop reading. Which is cool too.
Anyway...
I've always been regular. I could always count on the exact day when I would start AND end.
To the exact hour. Hahaha, I'm just kidding. Just trying to freak you guys out.
I was always on time. No surprises for me!
I was up at girls camp working as a cookie the first week of July (1st-6th).
I was suppose to "start" July 3rd (Wednesday) and I was prepared. Like I always am.
I went through the day waiting. And waiting. And waiting for mother nature.
I figured because I was a newly wed *cough cough* my body was like, umm, I have know idea what's going on.
I figured mother nature was just running a little late.
I went to bed that night thinking, "It'll come tomorrow, Sabrina, maybe you're...off."
Didn't even think twice about it.
The next day (Thursday) I waited.
I knew it was going to come anytime now!
It had to.
But it didn't.

And Thursday night, laying in my tent after a long day in the kitchen, I cried.
I cried and cried.
There is just something about figuring out that you are growing a human being.
You know?
Heh, it's kind of a big life changer and a huge responsibility.
And I've never been a parent before, so like, what to do?
I thought about Chris.
We have no idea what we're doing. We're still kids.
We're going to become old boring parents.
I don't want to be an old boring parent! I'll be a hip parent.
A cool parent.
No I won't! I'll be a parent who still listens to music that was cool when I was young.
When I was young?!
What am I saying?!

I thought and thought and thought.
How am I going to tell Chris? I'll wait a couple more weeks before I tell him.
I became home sick and I needed to get home!
My younger sister Sophia who was up at camp with me (as a girl, not a Cookie) got a really bad sunburn and was having an uncomfortable time sleeping in a sleeping bag.
Yes! She's not feeling good, I'll take her home early!
Yayayayayayayayay!

That became the plan. Instead of leaving Saturday noonish, we'll leave Friday night after campfire!
And we did.
We packed up and the drive home was FOREVER.
How do we get out of these woods?!
It's a long dark dirt road out of the camp to get back to the paved road.
Did I mention it was pitch black.
You guys, we were L-I-T-E-R-A-L-L-Y screaming and trying hard not to pee ourselves.
We kept thinking that we were seeing things and that if we slowed down enough someone was going to get us.
I also think that I was trying to keep my mind of other things.
But I couldn't help myself from thinking about things.
All the way home I thought about when I would tell Chris and how.
How and when?
When and how?
I remember seeing all these cute idea's on Pinterest on women telling their husbands and I decided would do it one of those ways.
Wait a few days, and do it that way.
That is what I'll do.

I dropped Sophia off and I drove home.
I completely forgot that Chris couldn't read my mind (couldn't, people, he can now.)
He had no idea I was coming home early.
I parked in our drive way.
I carried my bag over my shoulder to the front door, unlocked the door, and walked in.
I dropped my bag.
Chris had fallen asleep on our giant bean bag (LoveSac) in the living room.
He woke and said, "You're home early."
I went and cuddled next to him.
I looked him in the eyes, and I threw all those Pinterest idea's out the window:
"I'm pregnant."

It's so much fun thinking back on this while The Little One is in the other room sleeping.
She is my favorite person in the whole world.

And Chris is the best "cool" Dad in the world.
He makes being a parent look easy.
Yup, he's not afraid to carry around the pink flowery diaper bag.

Scarlett is Serena's older cousin by like, 5 weeks. (;
Scarlett and Rini (Serena's nickname, pronounced 'ree-knee') are bff's.
Rini stuck her hand in Scarlett's mouth, and Scarlett was like, "Oh, okay."
And then their Mom's had to ruin the fun and stop them.

Trade you clothes?

Babies are so much fun!
Come over to my house and you'll see!

Love you all and thanks for reading!
