We suck at being "just friends."

It's time foooooor;
an "Early Dating Life of Chris and I" story!
Yayayayayyaya.
You guys are ecstatic, I can feel it.

Let me take you back a few short years ago toooooooooooo.....
May of 2010. I'm pretty sure.
Chris and I were still deciding if we wanted to date.
Just kidding, we knew we wanted to date.
But he was about to go on a mish mish (mission) for two years, so what's the point? Right??
Well, we decided that we were just going to be friends.
HA. HA. HA.
So we go to this Jazz festival as "friends" with Molly and Cody.
It was a ton of fun and we fell in love with old Sacramento.
Throughout the whole time we were at the festival our hands would somehow bump into each other and hold each other.
And then we would look at each other sheepishly and pull away (what silly teenagers we were!)
FINALLY
When we were almost done with the festival Chris said, "We suck at being 'just' friends."

And we became inseparable.
I'm just kidding about that.
But pretty darn close to it.
This is us riding home from old Sac on the light rail.
It was raining.
I was pretty annoyed since I had flat ironed my hair that day.

And now we have this little doll.

If you liked the story let me know!
I'm sure I have another one up my sleeve somewhere.

I love you all!

Want a picture with Serena?

You got it!
She's guaranteed to make you look good! (;
Who doesn't love holding babies?!
(Once you hold a baby, there is no going back.)

Oh no! Grampa Haag's goofiness is going to wear off on her!

The Meyer cousins wanted to get a picture with Chris and Serena!
Obviously.
Jack LOVES holding baby 'gril'.

So does Liam!

Aunt Sophia and Aunt D'Veda. Which one is baby Serena??

Uncle Marc having fun with Serena aaaat Farrell's!

Being a Mom is the best thing in the world.
I'm so grateful for Serena.
Not only is she a giant bundle of joy, but she finds me hiiiilarious.
So we get along just fine (:

I love you all!

Tiny Family Reunion/Funeral

It's been a week of sad and happy.
But mostly happy.
Like 96% happy.
Chris' beautiful grandmother past away.
Which is the sad part. But she is happier now without her ailments that she had here on Earth.

Chris' two older brothers (Paul and Marc) came out for the funeral and they were a lot of fun.
We haven't seen them for about a year (almost exactly!)
It was such a fun week being able to spend time with them and visit.
I know Chris was especially excited because...well, they're his older brothers!
And who doesn't adore their older siblings?
Chris and Michael are missing!
I just realized I didn't get any pictures with all of us together!! WHAT!?
I am so bad at remembering to take pictures. (Like I didn't for the 4th of July, boooo.)
Hopefully Paul or Marc did.
Chris' Uncles and Aunts, and long lost cousins once removed (or something) also came down (or up) to Sacramento which was very memorable.
Meeting some of Chris' family that he himself has never even met.

So Saturday we went up to Candida's in laws house to go swimming and that was a blast!
I haven't been swimming since...2012?
I'm probably just kidding, but there is a chance I'm not...I just can't remember.
Anyway, we BBQ'd and played Zombie Polo, which is like Marco Polo, but when you tag someone they become 'it' with you and you all have to get everyone in the pool.
It was nice for Chris to have so much fun after a lot of stressful weeks of summer school and lots of work hours.
SERENA LOVED IT TOO!!
She really did, she was like, "Oh my gosh, what is this stuff?"

And I can't imagine being without Chris for a few days SO...
Thank you Laura and Sue for letting us have your husbands for a little bit!!

I'm definitely happy to be a Hamann!

Thanks for reading I love you all!

Working out post growing a baby.

First off, sick baby's is muy mal. Which means not fun.
But she is the cutest sick baby and happiest!
She's had a stuffy nose, and literally a baby cough.
She is such a toughy.
BUT she is all better now!! Thank goodness.

On to working out...
My doctor said that I could start working out at 8 weeks postpartum.
I was so excited!!
When that 8 week mark came
I pulled out my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD.
I brushed the dust off and put it into the Xbox 360 (which we sometimes use as a DVD player).
I did level 1 aaaaaand it was so hard.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I almost wanted to cry.
I tried my hardest and it was hard!
The next day I couldn't move.
For that next two weeks I was so sore, I was walking around like a penguin with a sunburn.
Don't touch me! Ow ow ow ow.

I really should have taken it slower.
I did a no-no and put my all into that work out after not working out for practically a year!
I should've taken it slow.
Anyway, after those two weeks I got back up on that horse again and worked out like a champion!
I'm on day 30 now and whew! It's such a blast.
And it really works!! My muskles are a little bit bigger.
I'm going to continue to use this video for my work out, but also switch it around a little bit and try other work outs.
I SERIOUSLY THINK YOU NEED TO TRY IT.
What you need:
-20 minutes
-something that can play a DVD
-the 30 day shred DVD (which you can get for $8 on Amazon here)
-hand weights (you can use water bottles, soup cans, etc. Whatever you can find around the house!)

I use 5lb hand weights now, but I used water bottles for a while!
I'm a silly-goof and forgot to do before and after pictures for you, BUT I may do it later.
Just before and after pictures in general, not just for the 30 day shred.
But you can expect that...mmmmm...next year? Haha, so if I do it sooner you'll all be happier!
I know you all look forward to that!

Some times you can find some awesome routines on Pinterest, or you have a video that you swear by (like I do about the shred!)
Do you have a favorite work out video or routine? Tell me about!
I like changing up my workout a lil' bit and I loooove suggestions!

The biggest motivation for me is seeing progress in my body.
I'm like, "Oh! It is making a difference!"

Aaaand I have the cutest work out buddy, but she usually falls asleep in the middle of it.

I love you all!

Just a tiny update

I've come to realize that I enjoy things a lot more better when they aren't work.
Like, if chores were a game or something, my house would sparkle (inside and out), and you would be able to see it from outer space.
I need someone to come over and trick me into thinking chores are games.
You think I'm joking, but I'm sort of not.
I'm super gullible and reverse psychology sometimes works on me. Sometimes.
Wow.
Let me just confess everything to you.

I'm like a villain at the end of a movie or TV show.
You know the one.
They start telling all their secrets before they are about to kill someone because they think they will never get caught, but really they're just stalling themselves until the popo's get there.
What?
1. I'm not going to kill anyone, especially you guys.
2. Am I stalling? I don't think so...but I'm not sure.

I love getting feedback from you guys.
Unless it's bad feedback.
Keep that to yourself, Negative Natalie.
Just kidding, I love all feedback. Mostly.

Enough with the chit chat!
I feel like I really am stalling! I have no idea why!!

Serena is getting so grown up, it's ridiculous. (she's about 3 1/2 months young)
She usually gets up before me in the morning, and she will yell/talk at the ceiling to wake me up.
Then she see's that I'm moving and she'll turn and look at me like this:
"Moooom!! So glad you happen to be awake, I'm starving!"
She seriously gets so excited when she see's I'm awake.
She smiles hugely and kicks her little legs like a jig.

I'm trying to think if anyone has ever gotten that excited about seeing me.
Oh! Duh! All the time! Everyone is always thrilled to see me!
It could have something to do with the little baby I carry around, but who knows? (;

She likes to suck her thumb sometimes.
And it is super. cute.
I'm afraid I'll let her get away with anything and everything.

I forgot to show these guys on Father's Day.
Aunt D'Veda driving around her nephews, Jack and Liam.
Oh, dear.

WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYLAND!!!
And Universal Studios.
And WB Studios.
And probably the beach.
I haven't been to Disneyland since 2012 and I am itching for my fix.
I haven't been to Universal Studios since 2012 too, but DISNEYLAND.
It's just so fun and adventurous. Look how cool we are!
This picture is from the 2012 Universal Studios trip.
I just couldn't hold it in any longer...
I'm too excited!!

I'll write a blog soon about working out again! (here is it!)
I know you are all excited about that post!
I wish I was brave enough to show you before and after pictures.
One day, maybe.

Thank you for reading, I love you all!
